What can I use the card for? Can it be used for automatic, reoccurring charges?

You can use your STABLE Visa® Card anywhere Visa is accepted, including online bill-pay. Your card can be used for a number of everyday living expenses geared toward improving your health, independence, and quality of life. The list includes, but is not limited to:

• Reoccurring charges like living expenses, rent, transportation, etc.

• Education

• Employment, training, and support

• Assistive technology

• Personal support services

• Health, prevention, and wellness

• Financial management

• Administrative services

• Legal fees

• Oversight and monitoring

Please note: If you use the card to pay for something that does not qualify, you’ll have to pay tax on the investment growth, plus a 10% penalty on earnings for non-eligible expenses. Also, keep in mind that a portion of your non-qualified withdrawals could count against your eligibility for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits or Medicaid.
